Meet the Team at Marneris Law, P.C.

Niko G. Marneris

Niko, previously of The Law Office of Niko G. Marneris, P.C., joined forces with his wife and local real estate attorney, Cynthia A. Marneris (Zenko), in 2019, creating Marneris Law, P.C. He works on all aspects of residential purchase and sale transactions, from negotiating contracts, to navigating homeowners association due diligence, to reviewing all documentation related to a closing and then walking clients through these documents in detail, to answering any and all questions and concerns clients may have along the way. He also oversees the day-to-day operations of both the Palos Hills and the Chicago, West Loop offices.

Niko has always had a deep fascination with real estate. Early on in his career, he appreciated that there was so much happening on so many levels, from the constantly changing neighborhood landscapes, to the accumulation of wealth and power, to the social aspect of how many different and interesting people intersect in this business. Niko received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003. Thereafter, he attended The Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2006. Niko was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2006. After law school, Niko obtained his Real Estate Broker’s License and spent several years working with buyers and sellers in the Chicagoland market, where he learned the fundamentals of real estate transactions, including foreclosures, short sales, multi-family properties, in addition to condominiums and single-family homes. In 2010, Niko transitioned from brokerage activities to the law, by establishing The Law Office of Niko G. Marneris, P.C.

When he is not closing real estate deals, Niko is a big fan of riding his bike, traveling, and exploring Chicago. He also loves spending time with his large Greek family. Niko is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Real Estate Lawyers’ Association, and Chicago Association of REALTORS.

Cynthia A. Marneris (Zenko)

Cynthia, previously of Zenko Law, P.C., joined forces with her husband and local real estate attorney, Niko G. Marneris, in 2019, creating Marneris Law, P.C. She also oversees the day-to-day operations of the Chicago, West Loop office.

Since law school, real estate has been Cynthia's primary concentration. She has dedicated her legal career to excelling in this ever-fluctuating area of the law. She is passionate about this business and that passion is evident in the time and care she invests into each and every transaction. Her commitment to her work resonates with her clients, who come back to her repeatedly for all of their buying and selling needs. Cynthia received her Bachelor of Science, dual majoring in Psychology and Sociology, from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2007, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Thereafter, she attended The Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2010. During her time at Chicago-Kent, Cynthia served on the board of The Real Estate Law Student Association as Secretary-Treasurer and, then, as President. Cynthia was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2010.

When she is not closing real estate deals, Cynthia spends most of her time with her loving husband, Niko, her adorable Miniature Pinscher, Lola, and her Boston Terrier, Lucy. As an avid foodie, she enjoys the culinary arts and discovering innovative restaurants. She also loves traveling the world, exploring new movies, and attending concerts with her friends and family. Cynthia is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Real Estate Lawyers’ Association, Chicago Association of REALTORS and Women’s Council of Realtors.

Bryan S. Wallock

Bryan joined Marneris Law, P.C. as an Attorney in May of 2016. He works on all aspects of residential purchase and sale transactions, from negotiating contracts, to navigating homeowners association due diligence, to reviewing all documentation related to a closing and then walking clients through these documents in detail, to answering any and all questions and concerns clients may have along the way

Real estate law is where Bryan found his niche. He takes pride in helping families and investors, alike, navigate the minefield that is buying and selling real property.

Bryan graduated from the Capital Scholars Honors program at The University of Illinois at Springfield with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010. Thereafter, he attended The John Marshall Law School, earning his Juris Doctor in 2014. Bryan was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2015. Following his admission, he was in general practice until he began working at Marneris Law, P.C.

In his free time, Bryan enjoys participating in triathlons, playing boardgames, and enjoying quality time with his family and three dogs.

Shayla A. King

Shayla joined Marneris Law, P.C. as an Attorney in February of 2020. She works on all aspects of residential purchase and sale transactions, from negotiating contracts, to navigating homeowners association due diligence, to reviewing all documentation related to a closing and then walking clients through these documents in detail, to answering any and all questions and concerns clients may have along the way.

Shayla finds joy in knowing that the world of real estate is ever-evolving. There is always a new and exciting challenge around the corner and there is never a dull moment. She aims to make sure all clients are thoughtfully and thoroughly represented throughout the entire process.

Shayla was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2006. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from The Loyola University of Chicago in 2010. Thereafter, she attended The John Marshall Law School, earning her Juris Doctor in 2013 and her Real Estate Law LL.M. in 2017. Shayla was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 2013 and the Illinois State Bar in 2016. Following her admission in Ohio, she practiced in criminal law. She later transitioned to real estate law after her admission in Illinois.

In her downtime, Shayla loves traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and being the best dog mom to Milo Davis King.

Nicole M. Blasgen

Nicole joined Marneris Law, P.C. as a Legal Assistant in March of 2019. She provides support to the attorneys and assists with numerous aspects of sale transactions, including drafting closing documents, preparing closing statements, reviewing title, coordinating closings, and handling signing appointments.

Nicole takes pride and finds satisfaction in overcoming the obstacles encountered in challenging sale transactions.

Nicole had the good fortune of getting her first job in real estate over 10 years ago, working in the title industry. Real estate has always been both interesting and rewarding for Nicole. She loves every aspect of it, particularly the feeling of joy she experiences when she is able to help clients reach one of the most important benchmarks in their lives.

When she is out of the office, Nicole enjoys spending time with her adult children, her family and friends, and her dog.

Chelsea L. Howard

Chelsea joined Marneris Law, P.C. as a Paralegal in March of 2020. She provides support to the attorneys and assists with numerous aspects of purchase and sale transactions, including drafting contract and closing documents, preparing closing statements, reviewing title, managing calendars, coordinating closings, and handling signing appointments.

Chelsea understands that buying and selling real estate is a pivotal milestone in most people’s lives, and it can be a stressful process for those who are not involved in this business everyday. Therefore, her goal for each and every transaction is to ease clients’ concerns and to make their experience as smooth and painless as possible.

Chelsea brings with her 15 years of practice in real estate from her home state of Wisconsin (Go Packers!). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013, and she earned her Paralegal Certificate from Carthage College in 2018.

When Chelsea is not working, she is exploring her new city, listening to podcasts, spending time with friends and family, or watching the latest true crime documentary with her cat, Leroy.

Jaime N. Minick

Jaime joined Marneris Law, P.C. as a Legal Assistant in June of 2022. She provides support to the attorneys and assists with numerous aspects of purchase and sale transactions, including opening new files, managing calendars, procuring homeowners association due diligence documents, reviewing title, coordinating closings, and handling signing appointments.

Jaime appreciates that the real estate world is ever-changing and takes pride in helping clients with the process from start to finish.

Jaime began her career in real estate over 10 years ago, working in the lending and title industries. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a concentration in Sports from Columbia College Chicago in 2013.

When Jaime is out of the office, she enjoys coaching travel softball, going drag racing with her family and friends, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
